We have worked with local special educators and an Autism specialist to help set up a new way to visit the library.
One Sunday each month, we are going to open up the library an hour early. Much like theaters do, with the “lights up, sound down” showings, the library will be open for families who may be concerned about noise levels or expectations of the library. This dedicated time slot will allow everyone to explore the library and become comfortable in the environment. Our wish is that by allowing this time to acclimate, our new patrons will feel inclined and comfortable enough to return and visit the library on a regular basis during our normal business hours, as well.
